Despite an abundance of natural resources, Togo remains one of the poorest countries in Africa today with about 56% of its population living below the international poverty line. According to the World Health Organization, about 16.2% of Togolese children under the age five were underweight in 2014. Togo has a literacy rate of 66.5% for the total population with the female literacy rate hovering around 55.3%. In other words, just about 55.3% of girls and women above the age 15 can read and write in Togo today which is very bad compared.
Many young people, families, and teachers in Togo face daily obstacles such as:
An educational emergency. In Togo, nearly 28% of the population lives in a situation of food insecurity, a scourge that particularly penalizes primary school children. In the face of this crisis, it is imperative to act to ensure access to quality education and adequate nutrition.

IC4YS was founded in 2002 with a mission to provide direct services to at-risk youth in Togo, West Africa.
IC4YS is a publicly supported faith-based and grassroots organization whose main purpose is to reduce juvenile delinquency and expose the disadvantaged population, especially disabled students, to positive outlets that allow them to enhance and /or create a stronger and more effective spirit, mind, and body.
Since 2000, MATHIEU DAQUIN has been a shining example of the dedication found within the Rotary Club of Weston, Florida, Rotary Boca Raton Sunset, Florida, the Rotary Club of Maplewood/South Orange, New Jersey and currently the Rotary Club of Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
His commitment to service, both locally and globally, is a testament to the values Rotary International upholds.

Mathieu’s aim has always been to positively influence the local and global communities through service, charitable projects, and fellowship.
